I grew up in Palos Verdes. I lived in the south bay since I was born at Little Company of Mary. My mother is a wildly successful CPA. My father and step mother live in Tucson Arizona, he is an engineer for the Union Pacific Railroad and she works for the county. I am the oldest of three girls. My sister Lindsey is a CPA and lives in Long Beach, where she works for our competitor firm! My sister Sarah lives in Tucson and is a student at University of Arizona.

I went to the preschool that looks like a barn at Crenshaw and Indian Peak, two blocks from our office. I went to Montemalaga elementary, Palos Verdes Intermediate School, and Peninsula High School – class of 2003. I started working as an accounting intern in mom’s firm on Deep Valley Drive when I was 3, with red colored pencils and green columnar ledger paper as my coloring book. I started legally working when I was 15, and haven’t stopped since. Always very motivated to work, just like mom! I am a younger professional, but I do remember the days when bank reconciliations were done by hand with a pencil and that same ledger paper I grew up coloring on. I went to University of California Irvine, and graduated in 2008 with a degree in Political Science, and a minor in Accounting.

I followed my husband with the military from Pendleton in Orange County to Quantico, Virginia. All the while doing accounting work, from wherever the military took us. I began studying for the CPA exam when we had our first child, daughter Eva. My husband got out of the military as a Captain after 9 years and we came home to the south bay. In 2013 we found a home near friends in Long Beach, and I bought a successful tax practice in Malaga Cove from Teresa Deane. Since then we have had another child, our son Beau. I plan on practicing in Palos Verdes for the rest of my life. I can only hope that my daughter or son will have interest in the family business just like my sister and I did. I do all types of income tax and accounting work. I have clients that range from startup to multimillion dollar company, and from student to retired. The amount or type of work we do for these clients is completely need based. Some clients we see regularly, and some prefer to communicate remotely. I can be as flexible as necessary to accommodate client needs.

I plan on pursuing a Masters of Business in Taxation in the near future. I have hopes for growing Hansen Franklin into a comprehensive family financial office, to include providing all types of professional services to our clients. I like the idea of eventually being a full service professional office for my clients. Possibly by partnering with many types of professionals in our scope. I think Hansen Franklin has something special in that we are a small family business. We can relate to family and small business, which motivates us to give our clients the type of service we would want to be given. I like to encourage my clients to trust their professionals, and it’s easier to trust people you can relate to.
